Trevira GmbH is an innovative European manufacturer of high-value branded polyester fibres and filament yarns for technical applications and hygiene products as well as for home textiles, automotive interiors and functional apparel. Two production sites and a Marketing and Sales office with a total of approx. 1,100 employees are located in Germany. These are supported by an international marketing and sales organization. The head office of the company is located in Bobingen near Augsburg. Owner of Trevira GmbH is Indorama Ventures PCL, Thailand.
Trevira has a worldwide reputation for fibres and yarns for flame retardant polyester home textiles (Trevira CS), for its fibre specialties for hygiene products and technical applications as well as for low-pill fibres for functional apparel.
Fibres and filaments made of biopolymer polylactid acid (PLA):
Lactic acid instead of mineral oil. PLA is 100 % produced from renewable raw materials. PLA fibres and filaments are sustainable, innovative, economical, and efficient. Fields of application for PLA fibres are hygiene products and technical applications such as technical nonwovens or food packaging. The applications for PLA filaments are just as wide-spread – they range from apparel and home textiles to technical areas.
Filament yarns made from recycled PET bottles:
Indorama, the parent company, produces recycled chips of very high quality from PET bottles. Due to the fact that in Thailand only transparent PET bottles are used, the flakes and chips are of an especially good and extremely uniform quality. Trevira processes the granulate made from bottle flakes into filament yarns consisting of 100 % recycled material. Beside technical applications, they are also used in the automotive and apparel sectors.
