Mittelstand 4.0 Kompetenzzentrum Textil vernetzt

The Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrum Textil vernetzt (Textile Network Competence Center) supports small and medium- sized companies in the textile industry, the textile machinery construction industry and related fields, in terms of expanding their digital fitness. The main focus thereby is on Work 4.0, networked production, continuous digital engineering and smart sensor technology. The Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrum Textil vernetzt consists of four institutes, the DITF (German Institute of Textile and Fiber Research), the ITA (Institute of Textile Technology of the Rhine-Westphalian Technical University) in Aachen, Hahn-Schickard and the STFI (Saxon Textile Research Institute), with Gesamtverband textil+mode (General Association of Textile and Fashion) being the Head of the Competence Center.

 

Impulse generator for SMEs and artisans

The Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrum Textil vernetzt gives impetus. With information events, lab tours, workshops and roadshows, they inform, demonstrate and qualify medium- sized companies within the textile sector, in terms of how to progress in digitalization based on indivdual needs. Textil vernetzt is part of the funding programme “Mittelstand- Digital”, which was initiated by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi), in order to promote digitalization in SMEs and craftsmanship.
