Groz-Beckert is the world’s leading provider of industrial machine needles, precision parts and fine tools, as well as systems and services for the production and joining of textile fabrics. The company supports its customers and partners with a portfolio that includes more than 70,000 products for knitting, weaving, felting, tufting, carding and sewing.
As a future-oriented company, Groz-Beckert places high value on developing new technologies and areas of application within the textile sector. The company’s Technology and Development Center (TEZ) is a unique platform to help shape the future of textiles alongside machine manufacturers, users, textile manufacturers and institutes.
The TEZ at Groz-Beckert is occupied with topics of the future brought on by the environment and customers. Significant potential is afforded by fiber-reinforced composites, which replace conventional materials like steel as textile reinforcements in concrete.
Compared with steel reinforcements, textile alternatives are lighter and more flexible. This reduces weight and achieves an energy saving, as well as CO2 reduction. Another advantage is resistance to corrosion, which helps to prolong the lifetime. Together with the subsidiary solidian, new fiber matrix combinations for textile reinforcements are developed in the TEZ.
